How to turn off Advantage+ enhancements on many Meta ads at once

Meta keeps enhancement settings on each ad, and every new or duplicated ad starts with them on. Duplicate a campaign with twenty ads and you have twenty ads to clean. This is how to do it in one run.

Updated 2 October 2026.

Why there is no bulk switch in Meta

Enhancements are a property of the individual ad, not of the account or campaign. Meta's multi-edit lets you change some fields on several ads together, but the enhancement switches sit in cards and sub-dialogs of each ad (Advantage+ creative, Creative setup, Personalized destinations, Related media), so by hand it means opening each one. The Marketing API covers only part of them. See the manual guide for where every switch lives.

Clean every draft in one run

  1. Install Meta Ads Cleaner. Free, no account.
  2. Open the ads in the editor. Select the campaign's ads in Ads Manager and click Edit, or open one draft. The editor's left sidebar lists the ads; that list is what bulk works through.
  3. Pick what to turn off. In the Filters tab untick anything you want to keep, or load a preset. Locked categories are always skipped.
  4. Choose the scope in the Bulk tab: Drafts or Selected. Add Exclude from bulk rules to skip ads by name; plain text or a /regular expression/, matched against the ad, ad set and campaign name.
  5. Check first with Preview or Test on 1 ad.
  6. Run. Click Disable on drafts in the popup. In the on-page widget the same button asks for a second tap and shows the number of drafts first. A progress bar shows the current ad; Stop ends the run.
  7. Review. The result reads "Bulk done: N disabled across X/Y ads". One Undo reverts the whole run. Then publish the drafts as usual.

Which ads it touches

RuleWhat it means
Drafts (default)Only unpublished ads in the editor's sidebar. If none is detected, the run does nothing.
SelectedThe ads you selected in Ads Manager before clicking Edit.
Meta's own count is the ceilingWhen the editor says "Your edits will apply to N ads", the extension never counts or edits more than N, even if the sidebar shows other ads of the same campaign.
No publishingChanges are saved to the drafts. Auto-publish after each ad exists but is off by default and marked destructive on live campaigns.
Exclusions and locksAds matching an exclude rule are skipped; locked and unticked categories are left on.

Before you duplicate

The Duplicate dialog has "Select all recommendations" checked, which re-applies enhancements to the copy. The extension unticks it and the boxes under it automatically (Account → Advanced → Uncheck preselected Duplicate dialog recommendations, on by default), so the copies start cleaner and bulk has less to do.

Questions

How long does a bulk run take?

Each ad is opened, cleaned and saved in turn, so it depends on how fast Ads Manager loads each ad; the progress bar shows where it is.

Can it clean ads that are already running?

Yes, with the Selected scope on ads you selected yourself. Editing a live ad can send it back to Meta's review.

Can I keep Music on for one client and off for another?

Yes. Lock Music for that client's ad account in the Account tab, or bind a different preset to each account.
